Impending Global Economic Collapse On Its Way Says Pope Francis

The majority of the world's people are not Catholic, and many are not religious in any manner whatsoever, but no serious observer would consider Pope Francis a conspiracy theorist or a "doomsayer."

And yet, in a new message to the masses, the pontiff is making observations that have been made for at least the past couple of years by other observers of the global economy who have been derided as conspiracy theorists: Things are not good, and in fact, they are looking more dire by the day.

The pontiff recently launched a scathing attack on the global economic system, warning that it is nearing collapse due to a "throwaway culture" of greed and licentiousness, as well as the "atrocity" of youth unemployment.

The leader of the Roman Catholic Church's 1 billion-plus believers openly blasted the "idolatrous" economy for discarding many of the world's young people, which he noted has led to shocking levels of youth unemployment that will eventually contribute to the loss of an entire generation.

'Our world cannot take it anymore'

Francis, 77, also lashed out at the global economy, which he said had "fallen into a sin of idolatry, the idolatry of money," and that it has managed to survive on the profits of war, according to Brtiain's Daily Mail.

The paper further reported:

The Pope's damning message came amid comments he made about the break-up of countries such as Scotland and Catalonia, which came as a huge blow to the Scottish Yes campaign.

"Our world cannot take it anymore. Our global economic system can't take any more," Francis said in an interview with Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. "We discard a whole generation to maintain an economic system that no longer endures - a system that to survive has to make war, as the big empires have always done.

"The economy is moved by the ambition of having more and, paradoxically, it feeds a throwaway culture," the pontiff said.

Francis expressed particular concern over the "worrisome" statistics of youth unemployment.

"The rate of unemployment is very worrisome to me, which in some countries is over 50 percent. That is an atrocity," the pontiff said. "Young people are thrown away when their natality is limited. The elderly are also discarded because they don't serve any use anymore.

"In throwing away the kids and elderly, the future of a people is thrown away because the young people are going to push forcefully forward and because the elderly give us wisdom," said the Catholic leader.

Francis further criticized the influence of war and the military on the global economy.

'At the center of all economic systems must be man'

"Since we cannot wage the Third World War," he told the Spanish paper, "we make regional wars. And what does that mean? That we make and sell arms."

Continuing, he said, "And with that the balance sheets of the idolatrous economies -- the big world economies that sacrifice man at the feet of the idol of money -- are obviously sorted.

"This unique thought takes away the wealth of diversity of thought and therefore the wealth of a dialogue between peoples."

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, global arms sales fell by a little more than 4 percent in 2012, but since then, both Russia and China have posted arms sales gains. Also, the institute reported that total arms sales are up 29 percent since 2003.

Still, there are a number of nations rearming at an alarming rate, especially in Asia. And the global economy most certainly is tenuous, as the pontiff -- and earlier analysts -- have noted.

"At the centre of all economic systems must be man, man and woman, and everything else must be in service of this man," Francis said. "But we have put money at the centre, the god of money."

With the emergence of Australian  genetically modified bananas, which much like golden rice produces extra vitamin A, it is important that we discuss what these products do to those who consume them. If research with golden rice is any indication, and honestly it is very likely to be so, then we can safely assume that the  body can readily absorb it (Tang, 2012).

Because these crops are not designed to also be sprayed with poisons, or to produce any pesticides themselves, there are few if any risks to the individual. There is absolutely no link between GM crops and cancer or any other illness, although the same cannot be said for the chemicals that are routinely sprayed on them: the most common is known as Roundup (Glyphosate) and is a  potent toxin and endocrine disruptor (Gasnier, 2009).

So what will these GMOs do to consumers? Biblical financial principles advisor arrested on federal fraud charges

In an update to a story we've been following for a long while now, the leader of a church-based alleged Ponzi scheme has been arrested. Ephren Taylor was accused of taking $11 million dollars from congregants across the country in various large churches.

Ephren Taylor, once a financial adviser to congregants from some of the most prominent mega-churches in the country, was arrested today on federal fraud charges.


The Department of Justice announced in a news release that Taylor, 31, was arrested on a federal indictment charging him and his business partner with “defrauding investors across the country of more than $5 million.”


The charges allege that Taylor, the former CEO of City Capital Corporation, and the company’s former COO Wendy Connor “participated in a conspiracy to defraud investors” between April 2009 and October 2010, and allegedly managed to defraud “hundreds” of people nationwide, according to the DOJ.


ABC News aired an investigation into Taylor’s “Building Wealth Tour” aimed at African-American churchgoers. He conducted wealth management seminars and private meetings with interested investors. He targeted some well-known mega-churches like Bishop Eddie Long’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Ga., and Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Texas. People would hand over their life savings presumably trusting a brother in faith. Did the presumed endorsement by their church entice people to give up their life savings in this investment scheme? Was it the church officials who allowed Taylor’s program into their agenda the ones who were duped? Lakewood Church was careful not to endorse Taylor and stopped allowing him to speak on “Biblical financial principles” after it turned into more of an investment pitch, according to the ABC piece.


Taylor had a rags to riches story that resonated with investors. He told them their money was being invested into inner city project. At first, they received checks. As these money-making schemes go, the money paid to the original investor comes from the more recent investors, not from profit on the investment, until it runs out and the pyramid can come crashing down. It’s alleged he spent their money on his own lavish lifestyle.


There are PLENTY of advisors who tout Biblical financial principles as a way to manage your money. This advisor, Gary D. Halbert, alleges that faith-based “affinity fraud” is on the rise. Affinity fraud targets certain demographic groups. As the leaders are members of these groups, there is a sense of implied trust.


While I have no problem with fellow Christians seeking to spread their values to clients, I am wary of the implications of financial advice that is deemed to “come from God.” I have heard from far too many people who told me they were ripped off by investment promoters that touted themselves as being Christians. As noted above, securities regulators consistently list religiously based investment scams as among the most prevalent.


You see, people tend to do business with people they trust. Building trust is one of the basic requirements for having a successful investment advisory or financial planning practice. However sometimes, untrustworthy people advertise themselves as being a member of a certain religion in order to shortcut the trust issue. Clients come to him or her not because of the trust they have in the advisor, but because of their common religious beliefs.


Halbert provides a good bit of sound advice to check out investments before hand.


This is why Taylor’s breach of trust is particularly egregious to the people affected. Not only do they now not trust him, they may lose trust in their church as well.

Who Are The ISIS, And Where Did They Come From?

The story started after the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, when a 36-year-old Jordanian man called himself “the Stranger” shown in Iraq with his arms, money and a dream. The Stranger — soon to be known widely as Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi — came to Iraq with his adventurous dream that was starting a war he thought it would unite Sunni Muslims in the Middle East. High numbers of foreign fighters (Sunni Muslims) came to Iraq from all over the world to join together with Iraqis to stand together behind“the Stranger”.

Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi rapidly launched bloody suicide bombings and horrible executions targeting Americans, Shia Muslims and others he saw as obstacles to his dream in creating a Sunni caliphate across areas of Iraq, Syria and Persian Gulf. Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2006, but of course not all of his followers died with him. Thousands of foreign volunteers have since joined, some from Europe and the United States, who are streaming into Syria to wage what they call “jihad”.

When U.S. troops left Iraq, Iraqi officials began to speak of a “third generation” of al Qaeda in Iraq, and after almost 2 years, a former spokesman for the U.S. military in Iraq, Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, warned that “if the Iraqi security forces are not able to put pressure on them, they could regenerate.”

What formerly known as “al-Qaeda in Iraq” was the terrorist organization “the Stranger” founded, so the new al Qaeda was rebranded in 2006 as the Islamic State in Iraq (ISI), then it adds “and Syria” (Levant) to its name later. The last “s” of “Isis” comes from the Arabic word “al-Sham”, meaning Levant, Syria or occasionally Damascus. (The name in Arabic is Daa’sh).

While its accurate size is still unclear, ISIS is thought to include thousands of extreme fighters (some sources say 3,000 to 5,000 fighters but others think there are many more). ISIS terrorists now control many parts of territory that stretches from the countryside of the Syrian city of Aleppo to the Iraqi city of Fallujah.

This came after ISIS already taken over Ramadi and Mosul, but taking over Mosul is considered a far greater feat than anything this organization had achieved since the group’s Iraqi leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, announced their presence in Syria and started recruiting across the northern and eastern parts of Syria that were under control of so-called “rebels”.

How ISIS is carving out a new country

The next leader to ISIS was Abu Bakr al Baghdadi who took his job in 2010, at the age of 39, after Abu Omar al Baghdadi was killed in a joint U.S.-Iraqi operation in April, 2010.

What most people don’t know is that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (also known as Abu Dua) was once held by the US in Camp Bucca Iraq, but the Obama administration shut down the Bucca prison camp and released its prisoners, including Abu Dua in 2009. “Democracy Now” website reported this on the closing of Camp Bucca in 2009:

“The US meanwhile has closed Camp Bucca, once its largest prison in Iraq. The Pentagon says it’s transferred Bucca’s remaining 180 prisoners to two jails near Baghdad. US Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth King said the prison’s closure comes as part of the US-Iraq security deal.  Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth King: “As a show of progress for the security agreement and moving forward the government of Iraq, we’re going to put the theater internment facility as a piece of history. And we’re going to — it will be history, and we’ll move forward from here and progress.”

Their generated many questions about the real relationship between US administration and the ISIS, as many consider it a terrorist organization supported covertly by the US and its allies in ME region (especially Saudi Arabic and Turkey).

ISIS in Iraq

ISIS is using foreign volunteers (especially those who are not well trained) as suicide bombers, with them moving either on foot wearing suicide vests, or driving vehicles packed with explosives. Often more than one suicide bomber is used, as happened when a vehicle exploded at the headquarters of the Kurdish party, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, in the town of Jalawla in Diyala, north-east of Baghdad. In the confusion caused by the blast, a second bomber on foot slipped into the office and blew himself up, caused the death of 18 people, including a senior police officer. When ISIS entered Mosul, staff working there said that all official buildings there have been taken over, including police and military bases, and the airport. Also, a Turkish official said 48 people, including the head of the diplomatic mission, had been seized by ISIS in Mosul.

But many Sunni residents inside Mosul reported being glad to be rid of the “Shia government security forces” and expressed their happiness with life under the control of ISIS fighters. Other said that ISIS is buying time to multiply its control and get Sunni support. On Friday, a tweet on what was claimed to be an ISIS Twitter account claimed that its members killed at least 1,700 Shiites. ISIS announced it had slaughtered 1,700 Shia soldiers in the city of Tikrit.

The U.S. State Department condemned the crime, saying “The claim by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) that it has massacred 1700 Iraqi Shia air force recruits in Tikrit is horrifying and a true depiction of the bloodlust that these terrorists represent.”

In fact, ISIS’s social-media sites are filled with brutal images of radical terrorists carrying out public executions and amputations on suspected lawbreakers and ­beheading and mutilating fighters or people they said they are supporters to governments (Syria or Iraq) — and even members of rival militia groups.

ISIS in Syria

In Syria, ISIS declared the city of Raqqah as the capital of its state, after it gained control over the province in late 2013. It moderates courts, schools and services, raising its black-and-white flag over every building it controls. They also launched a consumer protection authority to uphold food standards recently in Raqqah. In the Syrian city of Deir al-Zour, ISIS appears to control important resources like oil fields. That’s what they also did in Iraq, as they look for more sources of financing. ISIS has begun applying Sharia law (which covers both religious and non-religious aspects of life) in the areas it controls. Boys and girls must be separated at school; women must wear the niqab or full veil in public. Sharia courts often dispense brutal justice, music is not allowed and the fast is lawfully enforced during Ramadan. ISIS’s harsh acts, including the barbarian imposition of what they call “Islamic punishments” such as mutilating, beheadings and cutting off bodies, have aroused large resentment among many Syrians living under its control. This is all a radical development as last January the ISIS faced a serious setback when other terrorist groups (particularly Al-Nusra) rose up against it and ejected its fighters from many parts of northern Syrian cities of Idlib and Aleppo. Right now, the ISIS’s control stretches until right outside Baghdad having just assaulted and shortly gained control of Baqouba, and no one knows what will come next.

If you like science fiction books, shows and movies then you’ve probably dreamed of the day that you would be able to sit within an exquisite ship with a sleek outer design, flat screen control panels, comfortable seats and vertical landing. Perhaps now those thoughts which have seemed to be far off visions of dreamers may finally be possible for humanity. The private space company SpaceX has recently unveiled their Dragon V2spaceship, a craft which promises to be those exact things!

Solving many of the common problems which make space travel expensive and difficult is the name of the game for SpaceX. Since the advent of space travel crafts have used massive rockets to enter space which are burned and dropped into the ocean, though the craft makes it into space tens of millions of dollars are literally abandoned in the atmosphere and bottom of the sea. Many crafts coming back from space to Earth have either been rendered unusable or require part replacement while few are capable of being relaunched.

SpaceX’s Grasshopper is the largest rocket-powered Vertical Takeoff Vertical Landing (VTVL) prototype being tested with the aim of preventing re-entry burn-up and also being able to land itself safely on the ground. This would mean saving millions of dollars on having to build a new rocket and only having to spend money to refuel the rocket! The Dragon V2 is a craft designed to sidestep re-entry problems with it’s new heat shields and SuperDraco thrusters which would allow the ship to land with pinpoint accuracy ‘like a helicopter‘ anywhere on the planet. With these two innovative ideas combined space travel becomes highly inexpensive and far more accessible to humanity.

All of the innovations that SpaceX is making seems to truly point to upholding the goal of making space travel more accessible. The company has already helped to make multiple NASA missions possible and is contesting against companies like Boeing to be one of the main contractors of spacecraft to NASA. With these advents the future seems positive for SpaceX and may come to mean even more for all of humanity.

U.S. is teaching Syrian Rebel tactics which blatantly violate the Geneva conventions.

On May 26th, PBS ran a report entitled “Syrian Rebels Describe U.S.-Backed Training in Qatar“. In the article, they quote interviews with rebels who are currently receiving arms and training from the U.S.

According to those rebels, the U.S. is teaching them tactics which blatantly violate the Geneva conventions.

“They trained us to ambush regime or enemy vehicles and cut off the road,” said the fighter, who is identified only as “Hussein.” “They also trained us on how to attack a vehicle, raid it, retrieve information or weapons and munitions, and how to finish off soldiers still alive after an ambush.“

At a Qatar base, said to be on the border with Saudi Arabia, the rebels each allegedly received three weeks of training in the use of sophisticated weapons and fighting techniques, and also received new uniforms and boots.

Under the Geneva conventions, the killing of wounded soldiers (even mercy killings) is prohibited under Article 3, (2) of Convention (III) relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Killing wounded soldiers is also sometimes considered bad strategy in conventional warfare, due to the fact that taking care of the wounded is much more costly for enemy forces than burying their dead. As cynical as it sounds, traditional armies prefer to leave a trail of mangled survivors than to kill them cleanly.

The first-hand interviews in a Frontline documentary have revealed that a secret base in Qatar, the US military is training rebels to raid Syrian government troops and vehicles, as well as to “finish off the soldiers still alive after an ambush”.

It features interviews by journalist Muhammad Ali with Syrian rebels presented as members of a “moderate faction” who describe a clandestine meeting with their “American handlers” in Turkey, along with the receiving of weapons and ammunition and the subsequent travel to Qatar for training.

The interviews are the latest evidence that after more than three years of warfare, the United States has stepped up the provision of lethal aid to the rebels.

In recent months, at least 5 rebel units have posted videos showing their members firing U.S.-made TOW anti-tank missiles at Syrian army positions. The weapons are believed to have come from Saudi Arabia, but experts on international arms transfers have told McClatchy that they could not have been given to the rebels without the approval of the Obama administration.

This latest move by the US comes as the head of the Syrian National Coalition for Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Ahmad Al-Jarba, visits Washington to lobby for more support. Al-Jarba is pushing for Washington to supply rebel forces with anti-aircraft missiles, the New York Times reports.

While meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry, Al-Jarba emphasized that his coalition was “moderate and inclusive.”

“The coalition’s goal is to build a pluralistic, civil state where the majority can live together with the minority in peace,” he said.

Washington has thrown its support behind the Syrian National Coalition, granting the body official foreign mission status in the US. The US government suspended the Syrian embassy, representing the Assad government, earlier in March, 2014. In addition, the White House has pledged an extra $27 million to helping the cause of the rebels in Syria.

Backing to the documentary, and according to Ali, the 21-year-old militant had not had any prior military training, like many of his fellow fighters. Initially, Hussein and about 80 to 90 other rebels were sent to Ankara for training at the request of “American contacts,” Hussein’s commander told the journalist.

After days of interrogations “about their political leanings and their unit’s fighting history,” some military men, who the commander thought were from the CIA, told the rebels they were to be sent to a training camp in Qatar – a Persian Gulf monarchy hosting several US military bases.

The United States has refused to confirm its growing efforts to help the fighters. Neither the Pentagon nor the CIA would comment on Frontline’s findings.

Moreover, many within and without of government fear U.S.-provided weapons could make their way into extremist hands, particularly in a place like Syria, where alliances and foes change with breakneck fluidity. Moderate rebel groups have worked closely with the al-Qaida associes: Nusra Front and the Islamic Front, one of whose factions, Ahrar al Sham, includes al Qaida members among its founders.

Perhaps because of those reasons, Congress has rarely signed off on funding for training and arming effort, and officially, the United States only provides non-lethal aid, like food rations, clothing and first aid supplies.

Homosexuality Is Natural

It is often argued that homosexuality or bisexuality are not normal, or not natural, and that they have no place on this Earth. This, however, is just a misconception based on insufficient information or indoctrination.

In some ways we could argue that since it happens at all, that it is natural. Unless we assume there is some unnatural external force teaching or manipulating some of us, seemingly at random, that could change what we were sexually attracted to. Of course some people claim this to be the case; claiming the cause is the media or the devil, and unfortunately some naturally homosexual people believe that too, living a life in denial, or attending some conversion therapy in an attempt to ‘be normal’.

However, the truth is that homosexuality is, and has been for a very long time, natural, while the definition of normal varies from person to person, being normal does not suggest being special or unique, and could even be used as a derogatory description.

Being gay or bisexual should not be considered as immoral or criminal by itself, especially when considering the statistics of hate crimes, often violent, due to sexual-orientation bias.

The FBI 2011 hate crime statistics reports that there were 1,572 victims targetted due to sexual-orientation bias. According to the US Department of Justice a quarter of a million Americans are victims of hate crimes each year and over half are not reported to law enforcement. Based on the FBI hate crime statistics showing that 20.8% of hate crimes are of a sexual-orientation bias, we could then estimate the true number of sexual-orientation hate crimes to be 52,000 each year, and these crimes are rising annually.

Gary Gates of the Williams Institute reported in 2011 that an estimated 3.5% of adults in the United States identify as being gay, lesbian or bisexual, he also states that nearly 25.6 million Americans (11% of the population) acknowledge at least some same-sex sexual attraction. At what level does it become accepted as being normal?

A study at Boise State University found that in a group of heterosexual women, 60% were physically interested in other women, 45% made out with a woman in the past, and 50% had fantasies about the same sex. LiveScience reports that women may be more “hetero-flexible” or be primarily attracted to men with some same-sex attraction. The hypothesis, published in the journal Evolutionary Psychology, theorises that this allows women to raise their children with other women, for various reasons. Some people are claiming this shows that most women are largely bisexual, with a preference.

Let’s compare this to the estimated 10% that are left-handed, or the 10% of people with dyslexia, and ask ourselves again, “what is normal?”

More than 1,500 different animal species, including chimpanzees, dolphins and apes engage in homosexual and bisexual acts.

Among some animals homosexual behaviour is rare, some having sex with the same gender only a part of their life, while other animals, such as the dwarf chimpanzee, homosexuality is practiced throughout their lives.” - Petter Boeckman

If we were also to argue that the sole natural purpose of sex is to reproduce, then are masturbation and oral sex also unnatural? Should we demonize condom use just as much? We could also argue, using another theory, that homosexuality and asexuality are natural methods of population control.

Interestingly, in June, Exodus International, one of the U.S.’s foremost “gay conversion therapy” groups publicly announced they are quitting the gay conversion business, calling the practice “harmful”.

“I am sorry for the pain and hurt many of you have experienced. I am sorry that some of you spent years working through the shame and guilt you felt when your attractions didn’t change. I am sorry we promoted sexual orientation change efforts and reparative theories about sexual orientation that stigmatized parents. I am sorry that there were times I didn’t stand up to people publicly ‘on my side’ who called you names like sodomite — or worse. I am sorry that I, knowing some of you so well, failed to share publicly that the gay and lesbian people I know were every bit as capable of being amazing parents as the straight people that I know.” - Exodus president Alan Chambers

If you really feel strongly that god will judge them, while you’re entitled to your beliefs, I’m sure we (of all sexualities) would all appreciate you leaving that judgement to god.

And if you’re really going to complain about not being natural, perhaps you should stop watching TV, driving cars and go back to making fire with wood, if you can find any.

After all, you wouldn’t be reading this if it wasn’t for the genius mathematician, Alan Turing, who created one of the first computers and helped us to win World War II. For engaging in homosexual acts he was made to take female hormones (chemical castration), which resulted in him growing breasts as a side effect. He committed suicide at the age of 42.

While I understand there is a natural fear of that which is different, it’s the 21st century, so instead of complaining about how others live, let’s focus on how we live and what we can change to make our lives better.

(g)(1) The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the ‘registry’) to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each device that— ‘‘(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; ‘‘(B) and is— ‘‘(I) a class III device; or ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining.”

Approved by the FDA, a class II implantable device is an “implantable radio frequency transponder system for patient identification and health information.” The purpose of a class II device is to collect data in medical patients such as “claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary.”

Any other data deemed appropriate by the secretary, so is the sky is the limit?

What your future holds in store. You go to a doctor for medical services; you are informed that he must implant an RFID chip in your body. And that all of your medical history must be programmed into the chip, and if you refuse the RFID chip under law he will not be able to treat you. Sound like science fiction?
